Corsicana baseball intends to stay at the top

At the top of their district standings with 12 consecutive victories this season, the Corsicana Tigers have been a nearly unstoppable force as they've taken the year by storm. VYPE DFW takes a look at their season so far and what fans can continue to expect:

Non-District Play

Sharpening their tools in non-district play, Corsicana showcased some of their best athletes on the field. Led by talented athletes and a coaching staff that continually motivates them to be their best, the Tigers bounced back after a season-opening loss to George West; defeating Farmersville (2-1), North Mesquite (15-1), Brownsboro (17-1), Lindale (8-2), Pittsburg (11-1), and more. With a focus on each next step, the Tigers have continued their reign through district play.

District Play So Far

In district play, the team has showcased their ability to keep their opponents at bay while taking down Crandall in back-to-back shut-out victories (6-0, 10-0), Red Oak (12-4, 8-3), Ennis (7-0, 8-0, and Mabank (5-0, 7-1). Having played with brilliance at the plate, the team has been quick to set the tone as soon as they head up to bat. Likewise, the team has been able to showcase remarkable defense as they fend off any advances from their opponents.

What's Ahead

Determined on keeping their district schedule unblemished, the Tigers can be expected to play with a fire in their hearts. Continually focused on the next opponent, Corsicana is preparing to take on Forney on April 9 before heading into the rest of their district play. Fans can expect this squad to finish out their district schedule with a strong will and desire to enter the playoffs with bat ablaze!
