BREAKING: Cy Fair DL and Under Armour All-American commits to Texas A&M

From the maroon and white, to the maroon and white.

Cy Fair defensive lineman Landon Rink decided to shut his recruitment down today and committed to Texas A&M.

The 4-star Bobcat committed to the Aggies over Ohio State and Oklahoma Wednesday. So, what was it that helped the Aggies earn Rink's commitment?

“Every time I went up there, it was like one big family. They already treated me like family, even though I wasn’t there,” Rink said. “I love Coach (Sean) Spence, Coach Tony (Jerod-Eddie), Coach (Jay) Bateman and Coach (Mike) Elko. They’re all coaches I want to play for, and I’m going to put everything I have on the field for them.”

The Aggies are under a new regime under new coach Mike Elko, who has brought an intense culture to the Aggie football program and Rink is excited for it.

“Coach Elko is bringing in a great attitude and culture to the program," he said. "Once they get that attitude that he’s trying to get there, there is no one who can stop them.”

Elko brought in DL coach Sean Spence, who has had NFL coaching experience, which really meant a lot to Rink.

“Coach Spence has coached so many NFL guys, so the development is obviously there,” he said. “Their defense fits me perfectly and they want me to play the 3-technique and big end, which I’m excited about.”

Now committed, the future Aggie plans on focusing on a big senior year aiming to get 20 sacks while playing for his Dad who is on the staff for the Bobcats.

“It’s pretty awesome to be able to play for my Dad and have him by my side,” he said. “He’s been coaching me up since I was young, helping me get to where I am today. I’m ready to enjoy my senior year with him.”

The path for the Under Armour All-American is paved maroon and white all the way down Highway 249 to College Station.
