The stars of 2025-26 Summer Creek Softball
No. 11 -- Summer Creek Bulldogs
Legendary Ragin’ Cajuns catcher Lana Bowers takes the reins of the Bulldogs, aiming to capitalize on the program’s status as a perennial challenger in Houston. Summer Creek shared the District 23-6A title with Kingwood last season, finishing 25-6, but ran into a tough postseason draw and fell in the opening round to eventual 6A Division I State Finalist Clear Springs.
But don’t sleep on SCHS — they have talent to spare and should be more motivated than ever.
Pitching duties will likely continue to be split between the one-two punch of juniors Torie Turner (Maryland commit) and Alyssa Flores (Trinity Valley), both first-team all-district selections who are equally dangerous at the plate.

Meanwhile, shortstop Elaina Bonuelos (South Carolina Upstate) and catcher Olivia Maciel (Trinity Valley) — both first-teamers — will look to cap off their senior seasons on a high note, while second-team infielder Bella Melchor should build on a spring in which she led the team with 28 RBIs and eight home runs.

The stars of 2025-26 Katy Jordan Softball
No. 12 -- Katy Jordan Warriors
It’s the dawn of a new era for Jordan Softball, as the Warriors appear to have found their footing among Houston’s elite. Coming off the program’s inaugural postseason berth, a three-round trek through the 6A Division II bracket, and a 25–7 final record, all signs point to JHS continuing its upward trajectory.
Everything runs through senior Ryan McIntosh, the incontestable catalyst for head coach Alexandria Compte’s squad. Last season’s District 19-6A Defensive Player of the Year and a member of the THSCA Super Elite Team, McIntosh brings grace and precision at first base and on the mound. Yet the UCLA signee may be even more dangerous in the batter’s box, driving in 60 runs, launching 16 home runs, and scoring 28 times herself.

But the excitement for the Warriors doesn’t end there. Seniors Maddie Jovanovic and Madison Royse are still in the mix as well after receiving first-team all-district honors. Jovanovic, an outfielder signed with SFA, hit .349 with 29 RBIs in 2025, while McLennan pledge Royse batted just over .300, drove in 24 runs, and played a pivotal role behind the plate as the team’s catcher.
Alongside McIntosh, sophomore right-hander Olivia Sexton will also shoulder innings, responding to a breakout season that earned her District 19-6A Newcomer of the Year honors. Furthermore, first-teamer Macey McCoy figures to be a key presence in the infield, having emerged as a standout during her freshman debut.

2025-26 Pearland Softball
No. 13 -- Pearland Oilers
Pearland isn’t far removed from claiming UIL State Championship No. 3 in 2023 — a fitting capstone to the final season of Laneigh Clark’s illustrious coaching career before Michele Hyden assumed control of the program. While the Lady Oilers haven’t returned to the state stage since, they haven’t been far off the mark.
In 2025, PHS stormed to an unblemished District 22-6A championship before bowing out in a decisive Game 3 against powerhouse Atascocita, closing the spring at 27–8 overall. With the majority of last year’s core back in the fold, Pearland has every reason to believe a resurgence is taking shape.
Senior right-hander Madelyn Guzman anchors the staff after earning District 22-6A Pitcher of the Year honors, while Texas State signee Payton Schugart brings first-team all-district pedigree and steady leadership behind the plate.

The infield remains a strength with first-team seniors Layla Bennett (Central Florida) and Payton Powell (Blinn), joined by shortstop Elaina Njus, an honorable mention selection. Though the outfield will feature new faces, second-teamer Anison Lopez (Grayson College) provides experience and cohesion.
