THE SETUP: No. 13 Stratford | VYPE Houston Volleyball 2026 Preseason Rankings

The featured standouts of the 2026–27 Stratford Spartans volleyball team.

Farrah Sheeren (VYPE)

The Stratford Spartans have been on a heater. Two seasons ago, Stratford reached the UIL 6A Division II state title match, squaring off against Byron Nelson. Last fall, the Spartans followed that up with another deep postseason push, advancing to the Regional Finals and finishing 26-16 overall.

Stratford will have some holes to fill following the graduation of Audrey Cook (Grand Canyon) and Gwen Koss (Providence), two cornerstone players who helped fuel the program’s recent success.

The featured standouts of the 2026–27 Jordan Warriors volleyball team.

Matt Powell (VYPE)

The Jordan Warriors navigated one of the toughest districts in Texas last season, finishing second in the rugged Katy ISD race. Despite that accomplishment, an early playoff exit left a bitter taste and has provided plenty of motivation heading into 2026. Coach Jennifer Vaden’s squad, which went 29-12 a season ago, returns a talented core determined to make a deeper playoff run.

Leading the offense is Cooper Rolens, a first-team all-district pick and East Texas Baptist commit who ranks among the area's top distributors with no shortage of weapons at her disposal. Fellow first-team selection Allie Hodges returns as the team's leading kill producer, while junior Eti Osague (first-team) and Texas Southern-bound senior Jada Wright provide additional scoring punch on the pins.

The featured standouts of the 2026–27 Dawson Eagles volleyball team.

Matt Powell (VYPE)

It was a historic season for the Dawson Eagles a year ago, as they advanced to the UIL 6A Division I State Finals and finished with an impressive 42-5 record. This year's squad will have a different look following the graduation of standout seniors Jenna Thedford (Texas A&M) and Avery Koonsen (Stephen F. Austin).

Longtime head coach Lauren Leth has also moved on to become a middle school principal. Enter the Taylor Frederick era. The former Dawson player and Manvel assistant takes over as head coach, tasked with building upon one of the state's premier volleyball programs.
