THE SETUP: No. 18 Oak Ridge | VYPE Houston Volleyball 2026 Preseason Rankings

The featured standouts of the 2026–27 Oak Ridge War Eagles volleyball team.

Oak Ridge put together a 27-11 campaign last fall, advancing to the Area Round of the playoffs. With five starters returning, coach Tommie Sledge's squad brings back plenty of firepower and appears poised to take another step forward in 2026.

The offense is led by Rutgers commit Allie Lindsey, who earned second-team all-district honors after recording 253 kills, 146 digs, and 62 blocks last season. East Texas A&M commit Allison Luke also returns after garnering honorable mention all-district recognition. The outside hitter finished with 200 kills and is once again expected to be a key piece of the War Eagles' attack.

How about the Clear Lake Falcons? Despite finishing fourth in district play, coach CiCi Anderson's squad pieced together an impressive 2025 showing, finishing 29-16 overall and making a memorable run to the third round of the postseason.

Now the question becomes: What will they do for an encore? The Falcons have a major void to fill at setter following the graduation of Peyton Aldridge, who dished out more than 1,000 assists a season ago. Replacing that production will be one of the biggest storylines entering 2026. Fortunately for Clear Lake, plenty of scoring punch returns.

The featured standouts of the 2026–27 Cy Woods Wildcats volleyball team.

Coach Ally Brown is building something special at Cypress Woods. The Wildcats continued their ascent in 2025, finishing with an impressive 36-8 overall record and a 12-2 mark in district play.

Their postseason run came to an end in the third round against North Forney, but the foundation is firmly in place for another successful campaign. A revamped District 16-6A slate awaits, along with several key difference-makers returning from last year’s squad.
