Football teams using 7on7 to build momentum to regular season

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - High School football is king in Texas. It is no surprise when you consider that the season never ends for student-athletes.

In the summer, skill position players and defensive backs are able to improve their skills and stay in shape with 7on7 football. Texas will host one of the biggest state tournaments in the nation at the end of June with several East texas teams participating at one of the three divisions.

Terrell ISD names Marvin Sedberry Jr. as Terrell High School Head Football Coach

TERRELL, Texas — Terrell ISD is excited to announce Marvin Sedberry Jr. as the new Terrell High School head football coach for the 2019-2020 school year.

Sedberry, who has spent the last five years as head football coach and campus athletic director for Naaman Forest High School in Garland, was unanimously approved by the TISD Board of Trustees on Wednesday, May 1, 2019.

Hampton 16-4A MVP, honors all around

In the last few days, so many awards and honors have rolled in for members of the Kilgore High School baseball team, they're having to beat them off with a stick.

Or maybe a bat.

At any rate, Chase Hampton, a Texas Tech University commit who just finished his junior year, was named the overall most valuable player in District 16-4A, which the Bulldogs won for a third straight year; several of Hampton's teammates dominate the landscape of said all-district team; Jayce McFarland was named to the UIL Class 4A state tournament's all-tournament team; and Gus Witt will go back to the Austin area this weekend to compete in an all-star game.
