The top storyline in Houston-area football last weekend was The Woodlands vs Oak Ridge – a game marking coach Mark Schmid's return to the Conroe ISD sideline. Schmid coached The Woodlands for 14 years and is now the coach of rival Oak Ridge.
The War Eagles were down 20-0 at the half, but battled back to 20-14 with the ball in their possession late in the fourth quarter.
The Highlangers held on to go 2-1.

This year, there is a little more juice to this matchup as former Highlander football coach Mark Schmid is now the head coach at Oak Ridge. It's Schmid's first district game after retiring from The Woodlands a few years back.
