Fort Bend Clements' Jastine Escamos
KEEPING THE CROWN: After State glory, Clements' Escamos sets sights on senior surge
There's a certain distinction that comes with experience -- earned, not assumed. For Clements High School senior Jastine Escamos, that distinction is rooted in championship success.
This past spring, Escamos helped etch her name into school history as part of the Mixed Doubles team that captured the UIL 6A State Title.
Teaming up with then-senior Gabriel Segubiense, the duo took the court at the Northside ISD Tennis Center in San Antonio and delivered a commanding performance, defeating El Paso Franklin’s Kendall Olivas and Ayden Fraire in straight sets to claim the championship.
The win didn’t just mark a career milestone—it set the stage for Escamos to return this fall as the face of the Fort Bend Clements tennis program.

With Segubiense having graduated, Escamos now steps into a leadership role, carrying the experience of a title run and the drive to do it again. Her composure under pressure and ability to elevate her game at critical moments make her a key player to watch as the new season unfolds.
As the Rangers prepare for the road ahead, Escamos isn’t just focused on past accolades. She’s looking forward—to new partnerships, fresh challenges, and the opportunity to leave an even greater legacy in her final high school campaign.
The spotlight’s nothing new. And if last season was any indication, Escamos is more than ready to own it once again.

Fort Bend Kempner's Noey Do
THE RECAP: 2025 UIL Tennis State Tournament Results; RR Westwood excels, Kempner's Do captures 4th Title
SAN ANTONIO — The UIL Tennis State Tournament concluded Friday at the Northside Tennis Center, capping off another thrilling year of high school competition with standout performances across the board—particularly from Round Rock Westwood and Fort Bend Kempner.
In 6A boys singles, Round Rock Westwood’s Sibi Raja claimed the state title with a straight-set win (6-2, 6-3) over Austin Westlake’s Lucas Riezebeek. Raja, a senior committed to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, closed out his high school career in dominant fashion.
Westwood continued its winning ways in boys doubles as brothers Daniel and Devon Zhang battled through three sets (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) to defeat Southlake Carroll’s Andrew Whitehead and Danil Kazakov. It marked Daniel’s second consecutive state title after winning last year with Leon Chen.
On the girls side, Tompkins’ Ananya Sriniketh, also heading to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, rallied to defeat Coppell’s Alexandra Patton in a three-set comeback (4-6, 7-5, 6-3) and secure the 6A girls singles crown.
In 6A girls doubles, Westwood added another title to its tally. Anwitha Duduka and Janya Tellabati earned a straight-set victory (7-5, 6-3) over Plano West’s Emma Thoms and June Kim. Duduka, who was runner-up last year with a different partner, clinched the title this time with Tellabati.
Fort Bend Clements made its mark in 6A mixed doubles as Gabriel Segubiense and Jastine Escamos powered past El Paso Franklin’s Kendall Olivas and Ayden Fraire (6-4, 6-3). Segubiense, who finished second in 2024 with a different partner, completed his redemption run with the win.
In 5A boys singles, Fort Bend Kempner’s Noey Do etched his name into the history books, winning his fourth consecutive state championship. The Rice-bound senior capped off a remarkable high school career with another dominant showing.
Other 5A champions included Walnut Grove’s Matteo Mejia and Blake Anderson in boys doubles, and Abilene Wylie’s Hope Willis in girls singles. Grapevine’s Sara and Emilia Gyorgy captured their second straight girls doubles title, continuing a family legacy of excellence. Frisco Lebanon Trail’s Aaditt Rishi and Addison Rosser claimed the 5A mixed doubles title.
With multiple repeat champions, sibling duos, and dramatic matches, this year’s UIL State Tournament served as a showcase of Texas tennis talent—and a fitting finale to the 2025 season.
