VYPE highlights five sports figures from Lamar Consolidated ISD in this edition of LCISD Headliners presented by Texas Citizens Bank.
George Ranch returns some serious talent off a team that went to the playoffs in 2019. The straw that stirs the drink is Alexandra Tennon, who was named the Setter MVP for District 23-6A. The senior is committed to Quinnipiac University.
Foster football is loaded. Alum CeeDee Lamb was drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft earlier this year by the Dallas Cowboys. Some saw Cody Jackson is another version of Lamb. He has committed to OU, where Lamb starred in college and he has the same explosiveness and size as well. Jackson could even be better and that's saying something.
Lamar Consolidated's Cassidy Drapela had a big sophomore season, helping lead the Mustangs to the second round of the postseason for the first time in 15 years. Drapela is an explosive outside hitter, who has verbally committed to HBU.
Skylar Voskuhl will be a key part of Fulshear's success in 2020. The 6-foot junior will play a larger role as she will be featured more in the offense. The honorable mention, all-district selection is the daughter of Jake Voskuhl, who starred at Strake Jesuit, UConn and then 10 years in the NBA.
With another year under his belt, George Ranch QB1 Sam Miller has visions of getting the Longhorns a district title to cap off his senior season. The Ranch fell in the second round to Humble in 2019, but could be a sleeper in 2020 with several returners back in the huddle.

Andrew Reid is a 6-foot righty who was on the cusp of a break-out season for the Longhorns. While the season was cut short, Reid's career will go on as he signed with New York University to play ball. He was also named a National Hispanic Scholar.
The superstar receiver from Foster was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys with the 17th overall pick in the NFL Draft last weekend. CeeDee Lamb put Foster on the map a few years back as coach Shawn McDowell's program turned the corner. Lamb starred at Oklahoma where he torched the Big 12.
There is a new sheriff in town as Kiah Johnson takes over as the head coach at Lamar Consolidated. He was the head track coach, special teams' coordinator and linebackers coach. He played his college ball at Texas A&M-Kingsville and then for the Chicago Bears.
The BF Terry soccer team won District 24-5A in a shortened season. They were led by Bryan Rivas, who was the District Offensive MVP. Rivas was an explosive scorer over his career for the Rangers.
Truman Bexley anchored the back-end of the Fulshear defense. His solid play garnered him an offer to Sam Houston, where he signed on National Signing Day. He showed off his wheels on the Charger track team as well.
