The Houston powers are in position to reach the state tournament like Cypress Creek, Summer Creek and Shadow Creek. Will they live up to the hype?
Ridge Point, Clear Springs and Hightower have a shot, but would be considered the underdogs over the weekend.

Ridge Point vs Clear Springs, Fri 28, 6 pm, Merrill Center
The Ridge Point Panthers might be a year away. Their three top scorers are all juniors and find themselves two steps away from state. Fontenot, Allen and Adams combine for 40 a game. Clear Springs coach Pam Crawford is no joke. She's one of the best in the business. Minter and Green put the charge in the Chargers.
PREDICTION: Ridge Point has too many weapons and advances.

Cypress Creek vs Summer Creek, Fri 28, 7:30 pm, Merrill Center
It's remarkable what Cypress Creek has done. The Cougars have run the table all season and has an unblemished record. They are loaded with juniors Harmon and Hunter making up the best backcourt in the city. Coach Alexander also has great bigs in Hill and Jackson. Summer Creek counters with Maliyah Johnson – a 6-foot-3 dominator – who has signed with Texas A&M.

College Station vs Shadow Creek, Fri 28, 6 pm, Campbell Center
There is more young talent in the Class 5 Regional Tourney. Shadow Creek won the district going undefeated and was led by sophomore Taylor and junior White. They can ball. College Station is solid but can't swim with the Sharks.
PREDICTION: Shadow Creek needs to limit the turnovers, but will move on to finals.

Cedar Park vs Hightower, Fri 28, 7:30 pm, Campbell Center
The Hurricanes are district-mates with Shadow Creek, which were their only loses in district play. Cedar Park went unblemished in their district. Hightower is led by a Big 3 of talented seniors in Purvis, Lombard and Johnson. They are long and athletic, but can they hold down a Cedar Park squad?
PREDICTION: Cedar Park wins and faces Shadow Creek

Fairfield vs Yates, Fri 28, 6:15 pm
It's tough to tell how good Yates is, but the Lions went 14-0 in district play and were 24-5 overall. So, can they get by Fairfield, which reached the state semis? The Eagles are tough and well-coached.
PREDICTION: Fairfield takes care of business and will get back to state.
