The Town Talk: Quick Thoughts: Week 2 holds revenge wins, notable upsets

Maybe we should have known that the Harvest Moon being on display during Friday the 13th would yield extraordinary results.

Although Week 2 of the high school football season was highlighted by marquee games, including a few rivalry matchups, it was also notable for upset wins in some cases.

Teams such as Lakeview find themselves at an unfamiliar spot at 2-0, while others such as Many are staring upward for the first time in a while from a 0-2 hole.

Here's what I thought was interesting during Week 2 of the football season.

Tioga gained a measure of revenge Friday against Pineville with a 33-20 victory by forcing six turnovers en route to its third win in the series over the last four years. The Indians were helped offensively by Kenneth Ravare's five catches for 140 yards and Blake McGehee's three touchdown passes, but O.J. Pemberton had a night with three interceptions. While the Tribe will have to clean up their penalties, a 2-0 start and a win against a rival is what anyone could ask for.
