With Week 7 on deck, several San Antonio-area teams remain unbeaten, while others are building momentum as district races heat up.
Harlan, Johnson, and Davenport continue to roll, each putting together convincing performances last week to stay perfect on the season.
Clark, a bit more under the radar, quietly moved to 5-0 after a hard-fought win over Churchill—further complicating the playoff picture in 27-6A.
Cibolo Steele reclaimed the No. 1 spot with a dominant shutout win over East Central and will face a tougher test this Friday in district rival Judson. Brennan bounced back in emphatic fashion, routing O’Connor to stay within striking distance in 28-6A.
Meanwhile, Smithson Valley and New Braunfels both enjoyed bye weeks, setting the stage for key road matchups this week as they look to stay unbeaten in 13-5A Division I play.
In 5A Division II, Alamo Heights got back on track with a win over Harlandale and now heads to Victoria West in a matchup that could carry weight down the line. Boerne, also idle last week, will look to remain perfect in district play when it travels to Harlandale.
Davenport continues to separate itself among the 4A ranks, cruising to a 57-0 win and showing no signs of slowing.
With district implications growing by the week and multiple undefeated teams still in the mix, Week 7 could bring the kind of shakeups that define the stretch run.

With Week 6 on the horizon, several programs in the greater San Antonio area are beginning to separate themselves through another round of district competition. The updated VYPE Top-10 (6A–4A) reflects not only who’s unbeaten, but also who’s handled the early season grind with efficiency.
At the top sits Cibolo Steele, which remains steady after cruising past Clemens in a 48-20 district-opening win. With their only loss coming to national power DeSoto earlier this season, the Knights look poised to control District 29-6A as they head into a road test against East Central.
Right behind them, Harlan continues to flash dominance on both sides of the ball. The Hawks improved to 4-0 after dismantling O’Connor, 55-7, and look like legitimate contenders in 28-6A. After a bye week, Brennan will also look to get back in the win column when traveling to face the Panthers.
In 27-6A, both Johnson and Clark are quietly building strong cases. Johnson impressed with a 45-28 win over Brandeis, while Clark pitched a 42-0 shutout of LEE to move to 4-0. Their upcoming matchups could determine how the district hierarchy shapes up in October.
In Class 5A, Smithson Valley held firm against Pieper, emerging with a hard-fought 27-17 win to stay unbeaten in district play. New Braunfels, now 5-0, continued its surge with a dominant win over Victoria East. Boerne also made a statement by edging out Alamo Heights in a 37-35 thriller, flipping momentum in District 13-5A Division II.
Davenport, the lone 4A representative, remains unbeaten after a commanding win over Pleasanton. The Wolves are averaging over 50 points per game and show no signs of slowing down.
As district races tighten, expect the spotlight to sharpen on head-to-head matchups in the coming weeks. With several top-10 teams facing bye weeks or key showdowns, the margin for error is shrinking fast....
