Second Baptist School Volleyball
What Chandace Tryon did in year one leading Second Baptist School was impressive. Tryon guided the Eagles to a 32-8 finish and reached the TAPPS 5A State Semifinals.
With five starters returning, this Eagles team could be just as dangerous.
Leading the way will be first-team, all- district picks Madi Hobbs (115 kills, 105 digs) and Morgan Warren (90 kills, 21 blocks). Lauren Wood (53 kills) earned a second- team nod. Another name to remember is Riley Tackett as her and Hobbs teamed up this past summer and won a TAPPS Sand Volleyball State Championship.
Another name to watch is setter Ellie Veeningen, who could come up big for the Eagles setting up the offense.

The North Shore Mustangs finished the 2024 season with a bad taste in their mouth after losing in the UIL 6A DI State Semifinal to Westlake.
The Mustangs lost a lot of talent from last year's team but as many of the top programs do, they have reloaded and are looking to get back to State!

Iowa Colony made a major statement at the Class 5A Region III Meet.
The Pioneers’ 4x200 relay team blazed to a 1:22.49 finish—good for the No. 2 time in U.S. history. They also hold the No. 2 time nationally in the 4x100 relay.
Leading the charge were Jayden Warren, who captured the 100-meter title, and Derrick Hahn. Ian Hill added to the medal count by winning the 400 meters.
Iowa Colony is heading into the UIL State Meet this weekend on the campus of the University of Texas and are the Class 5A favorites.
