VYPE 411: Jayla Medina of Texas City Volleyball
Jayla Medina recently won the VYPE Houston Public School Preseason Setter of the Year Fall Poll! VYPE caught up with Medina for the 411 on the star from Texas City.
VYPE: How long have you been playing volleyball and how did you get your start?
Medina: I have been playing for 11 years and I started by playing at my local rec center
VYPE: Who's your favorite athlete and why?
Medina: Jhenna Gabriel is my favorite athlete because her setting is amazing , she is a great team player, and she always has good energy.
VYPE: What's your pre-game meal? Routine?
Medina: My pre game meal is a 8 count nugget with a sweet tea from Chick-fil-A. My game day routine is I always listen to the same playlist before each game.
VYPE: Off the court, what is your favorite thing to do?
Medina: Off the court I like to watch my brothers play there sports and be with my friends.
VYPE: What's your favorite subject in school?
Medina: My favorite subject in school is math.
VYPE: What is the one memory from the game you'll never forget playing volleyball?
Medina: One memory that I always relive is my sophomore year at the first round of playoffs and our celebration after winning.
