Seven Lakes Jr. MB Willtrace "Wiggles" Ngoh
In the heart of District 19-6A’s playoff race, Seven Lakes is beginning to round into form—and a big part of that surge starts in the middle.
Junior Willtrace Ngoh—more commonly known as Wiggles—has quickly asserted herself as not only one of Houston’s most dynamic middles, but one of the most promising across the state of Texas.
Ngoh currently leads Seven Lakes with 116 blocks on the season, while also chipping in 165 kills along the way. Her development has been fast-tracked in part by the exposure and experience she gained over the summer with her club team, Houston Juniors.
That momentum ultimately culminated in a verbal commitment to the University of Southern California at the end of September.

“She’s a high-caliber athlete, who excels at any sport she plays,” said Spartans head coach Amy Cataline. “Keep in mind, she’s only played two years of club volleyball and she’s learning the sport, which is scary. She has so much more upside. What I love is how hard of a worker she is and that she wants to learn more and more about the sport. She is just different.”
As it stands, Seven Lakes is 19-9 overall and sits at 6-3 in district play—good for third place as the Spartans enter the back half of their schedule. With postseason seeding on the line, every match from here on out carries weight.

With Ngoh on a trajectory to earn District Outstanding Blocker of the Year honors—and with consistent play from fellow standouts like Gracie Hobin (Jr. OH), Lily Lott (Sr. OH), Megan Chapman (Sr. L), and Keira Do (Sr. S)—Seven Lakes has the pieces in place to make a deep run.
For a program that last won a state title in 2020, the path back to that stage may well begin with the presence of “Wiggles” at the net.
VYPE’s Matt Malatesta, Jackson DiPasquale, and Alex Hinson are back to review and preview the Houston high school football scene as we roll into Week 6, and the storylines are already heating up.
The season is just heating up — listen in as Malatesta, DiPasquale, and Hinson break it all down on On My Whistle.
This week’s conversation includes building the sport’s “Mount Rushmore” of Texas volleyball, identifying the top prospects across the Lone Star State, and spotlighting the sleepers who could shake up the playoff brackets in the coming weeks.
