5A Division I Region I
<h4>
Mansfield Summit (7-4) vs. Red Oak (9-2)
</h4><p>
Had it been any other year without a bunch of circumstances, Mansfield Summit wouldn't have been in the playoffs. But because of win percentage over Midlothian, Summit eked into the playoffs and has made the most of its opportunities, which included knocking out 4-5A Division I district champion and previously-unbeaten Colleyville Heritage last week. Now it moves on to another district mate, Red Oak, which needed overtime and a blocked PAT to complete a wild comeback win over Lubbock Coronado.

In the first meeting this year, Red Oak rattled off 23 straight points to down Summit 37-16 as Joshua Ervin threw four touchdowns and 371 yards.

PICKIN' SZN
Last week was rough, going 7-4 with big misses on Allen and Martin on top of Colleyville Heritage and Lubbock Coronado. The bad week dropped my picking percentage to 80.8 on the season. But that's the playoffs for you, where just about anything can and will happen that is completely unexpected (see: Ollie Gordon).
Here are the picks for this week as we're down to the final three weeks of the 2020-21 season.
Red Oak over Mansfield Summit
Denton Ryan over Highland Park
Aledo over Lovejoy
Southlake Carroll over Euless Trinity
Cedar Hill over Rockwall-Heath
Duncanville over DeSoto
Denton Guyer over Prosper
