BREAKING: Klein Oak 4-Star DB Guillory Commits To OU
Oklahoma has already made an impact in the Greater Houston-Area’s 2025 class picking up early commitments from 4-star RB Tory Blaylock and 4-star OT Ryan Fodje.
Today another H-Town player pledged to play for the Sooners.
Class of 2025 Klein Oak 4-star defensive back Courtland Guillory committed to Oklahoma today picking the Sooners over Texas, Texas A&M and UCF.
The decision for Guillory was an easy one after talking and building a strong connection with head coach Brent Venables and the rest of the staff.
“Coach Venables and coach Valai have been heavily recruiting me since they offered me,” Guillory said. “My relationship with coach Venables is not like any other relationship I’ve made with other head coaches. The way that Oklahoma recruited me was unlike any other school. I felt really wanted at Oklahoma and it just felt like home.
Guillory has been one of the fastest rising recruits in the state this offseason and has incredible potential to be a star at the next level. With Oklahoma now playing in the SEC, Guillory is excited for the competition level.
“Oklahoma joining the SEC played a big part in my decision,” he said. “It’s a great opportunity for me to showcase my skills in the best conference in College football.”
The NFL Draft happened this past weekend and the production coach Venables has had sending guys to the Pro level dating back to his time at Clemson also played a factor in Guillory’s commitment.
“The dream is to go to the NFL and to be able to go to a school that produces pro talent like Oklahoma is amazing,” he said. “AJ Terrell is a player I compare myself to and try to model my game after. Knowing that he played under Coach Venables makes me feel like I can do the same.”
The new Oklahoma pledge committed before his senior season and is happy to be able to focus on his last high school season.
“The recruiting process can be a little hectic at times," he said. "I’m just happy that for my senior season that I can just relax and focus on having fun knowing already where I’m going to school.”
Guillory also mentioned he plans to help get a few other H-town stars to Oklahoma especially fellow defensive back Cobey Sellers.
Expect a big senior season from Guillory this fall and more to come once he hits campus in Norman.
