The depth of the Greater Houston basketball landscape was vast in 2025.
While it was thought to be a bit of a down year coming into the season, it saw five H-Town programs advance to the State Finals.
Duke signee Shelton Henderson of Bellaire was special. He led the HISD school to the brink of a State Title. The Cards had a shot at the buzzer to beat mighty Duncanville, which fell short.
Henderson was an easy choice at the top... the rest of the All-VYPE teams took hours of discussion and disagreements. It was that competitive.
Here are the All-VYPE Pubic School Teams of 2025.

BACK TO IT: No. 19 Stafford eager to make another run to the Alamodome
19 -- STAFFORD SPARTANS
The Spartans return to the court on the heels of their fifth-straight postseason appearance, which saw them advance all
the way to the UIL Class 4A State Semifinals and end up with a 35-7 record.
In the seven years he’s been with the program, head coach David Montano and his staff have turned Stafford into a well-oiled machine that churns out victories on a consistent basis. This campaign should be no different.
Four-year letterman Maxwell Frels (Sr. G) is back to lead the group after averaging 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game which earned him first-team, all-district honors, in addition to being named to the 4A All-Region team.
He’ll be complemented by the likes of second-teamers Roosevelt Hawkins (Jr. G) and D’Marion Ware (Sr. G), as well as senior forward Skyler Holt.
