Fans should pay attention to athletes like Elijah Knott, Enzo Bingham, Gunner Naivar, Tanner Trout, Jack Simon, Dylan Gravett, Seth Nunnenkamp, Jack Berthelot, Kellen Tasby, Campbell Panetii, Takashi Shaw, and more as they stare down their opponents this fall.
PREVIEW: Prestonwood Christian Academy Volleyball kicks off a great season
Reigning TAPPS Volleyball State Champions, Prestonwood Christian Academy, can be expected to fly high this season against their opponents. Topping the Private School volleyball preseason rankings for VYPE DFW, the Lady Lions are prepared to be the best on the court for another season.
REWIND
Last season, the team dropped only 10 sets combined against their opponents while posting an incredible 98% win percentage throughout the entire season. Losing only one hard-fought match to a touch San Antonio Christian Academy team during preseason play, the Lady Lions learned from every weakness and strength on the court.
With a 41-1 overall record, a 12-0 undefeated district record, a 28-game win streak, and a state title to their name, it’s no wonder the Lady Lions can be expected to post another incredible season.
LOOKING AHEAD
Returning most of its team, Prestonwood Christian Academy is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the private school volleyball world. Facing a tough preseason schedule against UIL schools like brand new Prosper Walnut Grove, the team has already posted big victories over the likes of Frisco's Legacy Christian Academy (3-0), Prosper's Walnut Grove (3-0), Plano West (3-2), and more ensuring that they are more than prepared for their TAPPS schedule.
Using the preseason to gear up will prove to be beneficial as they face a district schedule against the likes of Parish Episcopal, Ursuline, Bishop Lynch, Fort Worth Nolan Catholic, and more. With so many returners, Prestonwood Christian looks like they are a strong candidate for a state title repeat! Be sure you catch the rest of their preseason games before district play beginning in October.
