THE TIER LIST: VYPE DFW Softball Rankings amid District; Melissa still on top, with Forney, Aledo closing in
Now that we've passed the tournament portion of the spring, the most crucial stretch of the Texas high school softball regular season is upon us.
As it stands, the defending UIL-5A State Champs Melissa are still flying high with an undefeated (18-0) start to 2025, which has the Cardinals ranked as not only the No. 1 team in Dallas, but in the entire nation, according to MaxPreps.
Also making waves in the 5A classification are Aledo (14-3) and Birdville (17-2), who have enjoyed strong performances throughout the first half of the new year.
Out of Class 6A, Forney (17-1-1) is on another hot-streak after reaching the Regional Finals in their last campaign, with Denton Guyer, Hebron and Flower Mound Marcus experiencing similar levels of success thus far.
With all that in mind, check out who's turning heads on the diamond as we enter the district race on the DFW Softball scene.
