It was the exclamation point on a great first week back from break. We will enjoy the win for a day and then get back to work as we prepare for two more SPC games this week.

VARSITY SWIMMING
1/7 vs Spring High School
Coach Sara Bany: Cooper swimmers returned to the pool after break ready to compete. Although we do not have the final results from the meet, I can say I'm proud of the effort they put forth! We had best times, near best times, some come-from-behind victories, and lots of cheering and team spirit! We are in the final month of the season and are using every meet and practice to see where we can tweak and improve.

John Cooper has the talent to compete in the SPC
Can John Cooper get back to SPC title game?
Last season, the John Cooper School soccer program went 12-7-3, going 3-3 in SPC play. They found themselves in the SPC finals, but lost a heart-breaker to Episcopal 2-1.
Several players graduated but coach Bryan Sherman will rely on senior Nico Alvarez and junior Ali Zidan for some scoring. Both have several years of varsity experience.
"We have a strong group of new players on varsity this season," Sherman said. "Our biggest challenge will be seeing how quickly the group can adapt to one another, and to the speed and physicality of the varsity level. It should be an exciting season with several players having the potential to showcase their abilities."
Forward Thomas Elkhoury -- brings a football mentality -- while Will Young and Michael Black are sophomores looking to make their mark. Emiliano Plaza, John Ordman and Sebastian Plaza will also play important roles.
