The John Cooper School makes history at SPC Spring Championships
The Southwest Preparatory Conference (SPC) is one of the top athletic conferences for independent schools in Texas.
Each year, member schools compete in three seasons—fall, winter, and spring—with championships held at the end of each season.
The Spring 2026 SPC Championships marked the culmination of the spring sports season, featuring competition in Baseball, Softball, Track & Field, Golf and Tennis.
Schools are grouped into divisions like 3A, which helps ensure competition based on school size.
Cooper had an outstanding spring season, highlighted by multiple top finishes.
Girls Tennis were the 3A Champions along with Boys Track & Field.
Baseball and Girls Track & Field were SPX Runners Up, while Girls Golf finished third. Boys Golf was 4th Place and Softball and Boys Tennis was fifth.
This marks Cooper’s first-ever boys track and field SPC championship and first-ever girl’s Tennis SPC Championship in the School’s history.
Cooper also had several individual champions in golf and track and field.
These results reflect a strong, well-rounded athletic program, with success across both individual and team-based sports.
“The spring season results highlight the hard work our student-athletes have put in over the past several months," JCS AD John Hoye said. "We couldn’t be prouder of their collective effort and accomplishments. These achievements reflect the dedication of both our coaches and athletes. Go Dragons.”
