Boys 1st • Girls 6th
Coach George Dohner: The Cooper Cross Country teams competed in Austin at the South Zone Championship meet. The girls team ran without their top runner who was injured. They fought hard to finish in sixth place. The boys team ran outstandingly, winning the meet by 16 points.
On the girls' side, Tahira King finished in 14th place and had a great day leading the team. Milla Signorelli finished second on the team in 28th place, followed closely by Emma Locht in 29th place. Lexie Fitz Sullivan finished in 37th place and Ava Perugini finished out the scoring in 45th place.
The boys ran in a tight pack placing seven runners in the Top 23. The boys were led by Grey Mendenhall, who had his best race of the season finishing in 2nd. Aditya Pakal would be our next finisher in fifth place followed by Walter Day in 12th place. Rounding out the scoring for the boys was Jacob Bailey in 15th and Ryan Taylor in 17th.
