On My Whistle Podcast | Is TCU-commit Daulton the best QB ever at The Woodlands High?
The Woodlands has long been a breeding ground for elite quarterbacks — from Chance Mock (Texas) to Eric Schmid (Sam Houston State) to Mabrey Mettauer (Sam Houston State). But could Jack Daulton top them all?
The incoming senior has all the tools: blazing speed, a high football IQ, and a cannon for an arm. His skill set has made him a national recruit, and he gave his verbal pledge to TCU earlier this year.
Daulton’s stock rose even higher this summer when he led the Highlanders to the UIL State 7-on-7 Championship, showcasing his leadership and playmaking under pressure.
VYPE’s Matt Malatesta caught up with the rising star as he gears up for the 2025 season — from his offseason grind to his goals for the fall.
VYPE SPRING TOUR: Division I QB, stingy defense showcased at The Woodlands spring ball
The Woodlands Highlanders continue to be one of the premier programs in Texas high school football. Coming off an impressive 11-2 season that saw them reach the third round of the playoffs before falling to perennial powerhouse Duncanville, the Highlanders are poised for another strong run.
Leading the way is returning quarterback Jack Daulton, a dynamic playmaker with a strong arm and quick feet. After a standout junior campaign, Daulton has committed to TCU and will be tasked with guiding an offense that features several new faces.
Defensively, the Highlanders bring back nine starters, providing a solid foundation as the offense comes into form. Standouts Parker Stewart, Caycen Bartolozzi, and Cole Carlin will anchor a unit that must carry the load early and keep opponents out of the end zone.
With experience on defense and a talented leader under center, The Woodlands will once again be a team to watch in Texas 6A football.
