The Lamar Texans battled it out against the Heights Bulldogs Wednesday night, pulling out a thrilling victory 54-53.
Heights came out swinging early, jumping out to an early 13-point first half 29-16 lead. When the Texans came back from halftime Sir Issac (No. 11) turned the game around for the Texans. His 10 points in the quarter helped pull the Texans even at 39-39 heading into the final frame.
From there the Texans would maintain a slight lead, until the closing seconds saw Heights take a 53-52 lead. Lamar's Marcus Brown would seal the win however with a put back game winner in the last five seconds.
With the 54-53 win, Lamar moves to 4-0 in district play and plays Houston Math and Science Tech tonight at The Pavilion at 7 p.m.

After, the game I was able to catch up with DJ Stewart (#2 Bush Bronco Point Guard) and ask him a few questions, here's what he had to say...
1. Tell me about your performance tonight. You guys were down at one point. What helped you stay focused?
I believe we did great! Basketball is like a marathon and those guys had a great start and we had the same pace. Bust at the end they ran out of gas and coach kept telling us we got this!
2. How do you plan to prepare for next game?
We plan on working on our chemistry as a team, free throws, and trusting one another.
3. With this being your Sr year what are your plans for this year?
My goal is to win district MVP and be district champions.
4. In one word describe your team.
I would say we are "Mysterious" because you never know who can have a hot night!
