REWIND
Last season, the Chaps dropped a total of three games for an overall 10-3 record-- two in preseason play and one in the playoffs. After they opened the season on a high with a big victory over Sunnyvale (28-24), the team finished non-district play to enter district with a 2-2 record (posting another victory over Frisco Panther Creek [68-0]). Through district play, Aubrey put the pedal to the metal and never looked back as they toppled Bridgeport (66-15), Van Alstyne (35-14), Krum (47-19), Sanger (56-14), Farmersville (59-0), and more to finish at the top of their district standings with an undefeated 6-0 district record.
Through playoffs, the team fought hard against Dallas Lincoln (63-12) and Center (43-41) for big victories before being kicked out of playoffs by Texarkana (37-14). With a taste of success, the team is looking to have a similar season this fall.
LOOKING AHEAD
The team opens up their schedule on Friday, August 25th against a tough-looking Sunnyvale team. With the likes of Grant Ramsey, Tyler Brown, Randall Szostek, Jeremiah Harper, Anthony Brumley, Emerson Cagle, Austin Harding, Brenden Hough, Landon Martino, and more, Aubrey is looking to have another strong season.
The team can be expected to show their experience on the field this season. With a strong roster of returners, Aubrey is looking to post what could be their best season yet. The rest of their non-district play will be against Anna Arlington Seguin, and Frisco Panther Creek before they open district play at home against Bridgeport on September 22nd.
