BASES LOADED: No. 1 Cypress Christian dead-set on a repeat
No. 1 -- Cypress Christian Warriors
2023: 19-11-1 (TAPPS-III State Champions)
Cypress Christian proved their mettle a year ago.
After advancing to the TAPPS-III Championship Game, in which they encountered an early four-run deficit against McKinney, the Warriors rallied in order to claim the program’s third State Title with a 10-7 victory.
Coach David Swan enters his 12th season with CCS, and will be bringing back several major pieces from that championship team.
All-State selections Drew Mestayer, Warren Haudek, and Jacob Lukaszewski return alongside Beckett Swinney and Brody Tucker to round out what appears to be the most complete rosters in their conference.
Gavin Gray and Brandon Williams will also play larger roles this season.

No. 2 Cypress Christian Warriors
What a first season to remember for Jessi Harvey as a coach.
In her inaugural season, Harvey guided Cypress Christian to a 20-3 mark and captured the TAPPS 3A State Championship in the process. Like I said, not a bad year.
Six starters come back off that team for 2024, setting the expectations at repeat-level in the halls of Cypress Christian. District MVP, first-team, all-state selection and State All-Tournament Team pick Sarah Olenick is back after hitting .524 with 35 runs scored in 2023.
Fellow first-team, all-staters Megan Smith (.509, 30 RBIs, 2 HR) and Audrey Petrowski (.424. 10-1 as a starter, 11 saves) also return to solidify a core group. Another player to watch is Macie Dammeyer.
“We have a strong core of starters returning,” Harvey said. “And a few freshmen who will be immediate impact players.”
