The reigning UIL-6A State Champs, Prosper Eagles, will aim to go back-to-back this Winter
THE ECHELON: VYPE DFW 2024 Preseason Soccer Rankings; Prosper, Flower Mound, Wakeland begin on top
It's almost that time of year again.
As the Fall season reaches its closing stages, we're now making our way back to the pitch as teams prepare to make another run for Georgetown.
Regarding the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the city featured several boys programs that reached the State level this past April -- namely Flower Mound, Wakeland, and Midlothian, with the latter ultimately claiming a championship.
While those squads are primed for a return to Birkelbach Field, the likes of Prosper, Mesquite, Keller, Walnut Grove, and Panther Creek (4A) are just some of the names who will look to throw their hat in the ring.
On the girls' side, Prosper and Wakeland took the State crown last Winter, in Class 6A and 5A, respectively, with Colleyville Heritage (5A) coming in a close second.
Given the targets on their backs, there's going to be plenty of resistance -- from teams such as Flower Mound, Southlake Carroll, FM Marcus, Wylie East, and Hebron -- in their mission to go back-to-back.
With the first kick-off rapidly approaching, these are the most elite squads, in our view, for DFW audiences to be aware of entering 2025.

STATE SEMIFINALS: Colleyville Heritage prepped for Pflugerville Hendrickson
After a long season of hard work, the Colleyville Heritage Lady Panthers are reaping their benefit. As the team heads into the state semifinals this week, VYPE DFW takes a look at just what fans can expect from this squad!
So Far This Season
Led by the likes of Juliana Grider, Lauren Whitcraft, Brooke Phillips, Brianna Salaices, Kyra Dolgin, Kaia Drese, and others, the team secured several big moments throughout the regular season. Opening the season with 18 unanswered goals in four consecutive shut-outs over non-district opponents (The Colony, 4-0; Frisco Reedy, 3-0; Frisco, 5-0; Lake Belton, 5-0), the team went on to continue their streak of near-excellence through their non-district schedule as they plowed into district play.
Once in district play, the Lady Panthers posted several outstanding victories over opponents like Grapevine (4-0), Denton (6-0), Argyle (6-0), Denton Ryan (6-1), and others. With a 13-0-1 district record, the team finished in the first-place spot of their district standings; securing a great position into the playoffs.
Once in the playoffs, the Colleyville Heritage athletes channeled their talents to continue getting out ahead. Outscoring their playoff opponents by a combined 22-4, the team sent Midlothian Heritage, Azle, Midlothian, Amarillo, and Wichita Falls Rider packing as they punched their ticket to the state tournament.
What to Expect
In the program's fourth appearance at the tournament, fans can expect this team to do everything possible to make it to the gold-medal match. Their last (and only) title coming 25 years ago (1999), the Lady Panthers are looking to set the tone early and put forth a strong effort. As the team gears up to face Pflugerville Hendrickson, fans can be certain that they are going to see this team step onto the field with fire; looking to secure their place in the state-title match.
The game is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 11th at Birkelback Field in Georgetown, Texas!
