THE HIERARCHY: VYPE SATX 2025 Week 8 Football Rankings; NB, Johnson looking like the real deal
Let’s just get right into it.
Cibolo Steele remains firmly atop the rankings after another convincing win, cruising past Judson before heading into a timely bye. Harlan and Brennan followed suit in 28-6A, each delivering dominant performances to stay on track for a late-season collision that could decide the district crown.
In Class 5A, Smithson Valley and New Braunfels continue to set the standard. The Unicorns, now 6-0, battled past Boerne-Champion in a gritty showing and face a key test against Pieper next. Smithson Valley, meanwhile, keeps rolling behind a steady offense and opportunistic defense, maintaining its unblemished district record.
The 27-6A landscape remains as competitive as ever. Johnson edged rival Reagan in a 34–27 thriller to stay perfect, while Clark kept pace with a strong showing over Madison—further tightening a district race that still feels far from settled.
Boerne and Davenport both continued to handle business with decisive wins, while Alamo Heights rebounded with an explosive offensive outing against Victoria West.
These next few weeks may not decide any titles outright, but they’ll set the stage for the defining stretch of district play, where every margin—and every possession—will start to matter more.
