THE POWER RANKINGS: 6A powers remain atop Austin area football rankings
Westlake dominated a powerful Cibolo Steele club to launch what it hopes is a new 40+ game regular season winning streak and reassert its hold atop our weekly poll with Lake Travis nipping at their heels. In all, our top six teams remained the same. Buda Johnson suffered a tough loss at the hands of #4 Dripping Springs but remained in the Top 10. Liberty Hill moves up while Pflugerville climbs into the Top 10 along with Georgetown.
Further down, Hutto, Austin High and Stony Point all fell to slide down the standings while Vista Ridge and 4A Lago Vista cracked the list.

THE POWER RANKINGS: 25/26-6A dominate Austin area football rankings
Westlake lost a regular season football game for the first time since 2019 on Friday night to an undefeated and fellow state-ranked Atascocita squad. Doesn’t matter. They’ve won enough over the years to earn a mulligan and aren’t dropping from the top spot unless/until they get beat again.
Things are bunching up behind the Chaps with wins by each of the next nine teams in our Top 10. Stony Point rockets into the charts at #11 after giving Vandegrift a tussle, while East View (#14) and McCallum (#18) also crack our Top 20.
