Logan Hamm's senior season was derailed thanks to COVID-19, but the Bridge City senior is preparing for his next journey.
"Everything's going good concerning the circumstances," said Hamm. "I'm throwing every day, working out, trying to stay in season shape the best that I can."
The Texas State commit is leaving a BC program that was arguably the top team in SETX, with no less than seven D-I prospects.
Rated as a top-five outfielder in Texas and a 2019 TSWA All-State selection, Hamm joins fellow seniors Peyton Havard (LLU), Cameron Yadon (Lamar) and Tanner Wilson (Lamar) as officially committed to the next level.
With the quarantine situation nation-wide with little to no activity and limited communication from Texas State Hamm is letting the spring play out and hoping for activity this summer.
"We don't have anything planned right now, most likely we'll shut everything down, we don't have a lot of information right now."
With an enrollment of 796 and realigned as a 4A Division 2 school, Bridge City is a unique town for continually producing top-level baseball talent. This century has already produced three MLB top prospects in Chase Shugart (Red Sox), Johnny Dishon (Brewers) and Kevin Angelle (Phillies).
Hamm extends this tradition of great players and looks at Bridge City's baseball culture for developing such great players.
"It goes back to our little league," said Hamm. "We all grew up playing together, by the time we get to high school we have great team chemistry, and then it gets to our coaches. I think we have some of the best coaches in the area, they don't accept anything less than 100 percent."
"It's been an honor to play for Coach (Chad) Landry, he's a well-respected coach and a great mentor on and off the field."
