There was no shortage of Central Louisiana talent on the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association's All-State teams for classes 1A and 2A.

Both All-State lists featured a combined 18 players from Cenla with eight on the Class 1A team and 10 on the 2A squad.

Class 1A runner-up LaSalle placed three on the 1A teams as infielders Kinsey Long, AnnaBeth Pitman and Sidni Laird nearly made up half of the seven player positions. St. Mary's followed suit with three players as junior pitcher Meredith Matt, junior infielder Ragan Hale and junior utility player Chloe Longlois were also honored.

The postseason awards continue to flow in for Tioga's baseball team.

The Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association announced their All-State teams recently and it was nearly a clean sweep for the top awards in Class 4A for the Indians as junior Issac Williams was named as the Hitter of the Year, sophomore Blake McGehee earned Pitcher of the Year and coach Dave Montiel picking up a share of Coach of the Year with Parkview Baptist's Emrick Jagneaux.

After last year's first round loss to Westgate and an 0-5 start to the 2019 season, Montiel guided the Tribe to 31 straight wins for their first title since 1987.

By LaMar Gafford

One thing was common of the Central Louisiana representatives on the Louisiana Baseball Coaches Association's Class 1A and 2A teams.

The players are all Tigers.

St. Mary's, LaSalle and Many were each represented on the LBCA's All-State teams after successful seasons and playoffs berths.

St. Mary's seniors Stephen Mayeaux and Brock Zeagler earned a pair of spots on the Class 1A team, and LaSalle senior pitcher Blake May joined them.
