Coming out rolling, Beeville was ready to get things started from the get-go. Elijah Sustaita scored two touchdowns in the first half against the Bulldogs as the Trojans went into the locker room ahead 14-7. Coming out in the second half saw plenty of frustrating moments for the Beeville fans as the matchup got chippy. With laundry all over the field throughout the entire game, fans on both sides were loud and the atmosphere was tense while the Trojans and Bulldogs battled against the wind and each other.
After the Bulldogs cut the Trojans lead 14-13 in the third quarter, momentum picked up on the field. Trojans and Bulldogs alike began playing with more intensity. With an 80-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown, sophomore Davyn Perez showed athletes and fans why the Trojans hold true to a "play-to-the-whistle" mindset. After debating on the field, a touchdown call stood extending the lead for the Trojans; 21-13. After being held to a field goal attempt, Edward Brako scored to further extend the lead 24-13 for the Trojans. Somerset would go on to score one more time with a completed two-point conversion, but would be unable to continue their attempt at a comeback against an aggressive Beeville defense led by Darion Perez and Seth Gutierrez.
Beeville is set to host state-ranked No. 4 Cuero on Friday, September 22.
