Another player to watch is Spring Hill-commit Rebekah Cavazos along with Kamryn Deleon.
The key for Bembry’s squad this year is “playing for one another” as they go for “More in 2024” in Alvin.

No. 20 The Woodlands Highlanders
The Woodlands has been a staple when it comes to talking about perennial playoff softball programs in Houston.
Entering the 2024 season, the Highlanders have made it into the big dance for 20-straight seasons. Tim Borths’ squad enters this year coming off a 25-win season, which saw them reach the Area Round of the playoffs.
Two starters are back off that team. Players to watch include Victoria Serrano (second-team, all-district), Lauren Phillips (honorable-mention, all-district), Emma Warrington (honorable-mention, all-district), Avery Vasel, Gabby Grieco, Kallie Matthews, Reagan McCoy, Allie Tatum and Gracie Rue (Schreiner University).
Keys to success for Borths’ team include playing CASA (Calm and Smooth Always). The Highlanders’ motto for 2024 is simple – Conquer.

Brandon Baker is back in the game.
Klein ISD has named Baker as the district's Executive Director of Athletic and Student Services. He moves over from Klein High School, where he was the principal.
Prior to being in administration, he was an assistant basketball coach for Cary Black at Klein Forest High School.
VYPE's Matt Malatesta caught up with Baker as he embarks on his new journey.
