After an outstanding season last year, the Parish Panthers girls' basketball team is looking to make the same impact on the court and maybe even make bigger waves in the playoffs. VYPE DFW takes a look at the team:
Last season, the team posted a 25-9 overall record (7-5 in district play) and finished in the 4th place spot in their standings. Determined, focused, and resilient, the team posted big victories over the likes of Keller Fossil Ridge (63-46), Carrollton Prince of Peace (68-27), Grapevine Faith (64-45), Aledo (61-45), Ursuline (62-51), Nolan Catholic (59-57), Prestonwood Christian (56-43), Trinity Christian Academy - Addison (45-23), and more throughout the regular season of play. Once in the playoffs, the team put forth an incredible effort in defeating Concordia Lutheran (42-19) and Antonian Prep (57-45) before eventually falling to Bishop Lynch.
This season, the Panthers are already off to a great start-- 9-7 overall (2-1 in their district. Led by the likes of Lauren West, Taryn Watkins, Peyton Cole, Kaidyn Fountain, Sari Taylor, Ivie Mehary, and others, the team can be expected to be lively and have spirit on the court through every play. Looking to go further in the playoffs this year, Parish has remained focused and has used even the most challenging moments to grow as a unit this season. Having posted big victories against Irving MacArthur (46-31), Hockaday (60-27), Nolan Catholic (50-37), John Paul II (46-45), and more already this season, fans can continue to expect incredible performances from these athletes through the rest of their regular season schedule.
