With the preseason behind them, the Byron Nelson girls soccer team is looking for a strong start to district play as they open up the district schedule against Southlake Carroll on Tuesday evening. The Lady Bobcats are known for overcoming adversity to play strong against their opponents throughout the year. VYPE DFW takes a look at what fans can expect from Byron Nelson girls soccer for the remainder of the season:
Last season, the Lady Bobcats finished at the top of their district with a 10-1-1 district record. The team posted big wins over the likes of V.R. Eaton, Timber Creek, Fossil Ridge, and Southlake Carroll en route to the playoffs. Their sin against Fossil Ridge featured 11 goals from an incredible squad. During the playoffs, Byron Nelson defeated Euless Trinity and El Paso Eastlake before being knocked out by Keller. This year, the Lady Bobcats are looking to go even further, but first they must take down their district opponents.
The Lady Bobcats will open district against a strong Southlake Carroll squad on Tuesday. Despite tough losses to Ursuline, Grapevine, Coppell, and Flower Mound during preseason play, fans shouldn't lose hope in Byron Nelson. The team has proven that they are ready to take on anything that comes in their way. When the Lady Bobcats are down, they aren't down for long. Led by strong athletes, fans can continue to expect an offense with an attacking mentality who will keep the pressure on their opponents defense. The defense can also be expected to rise to the occasion and put in the work through district play in order to make a deeper playoff run.
