VYPE U: Path to the Next Level

Zion Taylor and Karson Gordon, two dual sports athletes who have started the recruiting process a lot earlier than most athletes, are a part of the class of 2024 and have yet to play a snap of varsity football.

Zion Taylor is a 6'2 210lb Defensive End at Ridge Point High School. He holds two offers from Michigan State University and The University of Colorado. Taylor played on the freshman team and was later moved up to the scout team during the playoffs. He finished the season with 30 tackles, eight sacks, three touchdowns, and five forced fumbles. Taylor is a monster, with his smooth technique and quick feet any opposing Quarterback will have a hard time escaping out of the backfield.

Karson Gordon is a 6'1 170lb dual-threat Quarterback, who attends Ridge Point High School as well, and earned his first offer back in September of 2020 from Washington State University. Gordon played on Ridge Point's freshman team as well, and was later moved up to serve as backup QB during Ridge Point's playoff run. Gordon finished his freshman year with 24 touchdowns (18 throwing and six running) 1,225 throwing yards, 792 running yards, and only two turnovers. Gordon is able to put the ball in any receiver's hand or take off down the field if need be.

Both Taylor and Gordon are true athletes. Not only do they play football, but they are also involved in Ridge Point's Track & Field program. Taylor throws Shot Put on the JV team, while Gordon competes in the varsity Long Jump and is ranked #1 in Texas in the Triple Jump.

Taylor and Gordon are just getting started, being part of the class of 2024, these boys have three more seasons left to showcase their amazing talent. With Gordon on offense and Taylor on defense, I can guarantee they'll be a show on each side of the ball every play. This upcoming season will be one you don't want to miss when it comes to Taylor and Gordon.
