After a decent season last year, the Hurst L.D. Bell Lady Blue Raiders have picked up steam and are soaring through a nearly undefeated schedule so far this season. What can fans expect as the team continues on through district play? VYPE DFW takes a look at the squad:
REWIND
Last season, the Blue Raiders posted an 18-16 overall record (7-7 in district play) and finished in the 5th in their district standings. While the team posted convincing victories over the likes of Levelland, Denison, Colleyville Heritage, and more, they were unable to secure a spot in post-season play. Without a playoff appearance, the team jumped right into the offseason ready to put in whatever it took to start their new season off on the right foot. That hard work has been put to the test as the team has climbed the ranks this season.
This Season So Far
So far this season, L.D. Bell has only posted one loss-- a tough 45-39 battle against the Keller Lady Indians. Despite the loss, the team has been able to post even greater victories over incredible opponents such as Sanger, Frisco Wakeland, Sherman, Gunter, Mineral Wells, Ponder, Euless Trinity, and others throughout the non-district schedule.
Athletes like Katelyn Tietjen, Enyce Williams, Joyce Montcho, Jada Milton, Gracie Oma, Chanelle Davis, Jazz Williams, and others help lead the charge of the Blue Raiders' campaign this season. With four victories through their district schedule so far, the team has defeated Fort Worth Paschal, Euless Trinity, Chisholm Trail, and Crowley. Sitting in the second-place spot in their district standings-- just behind Fort Worth Boswell, a team they will face in just a few short days following a Friday night matchup against Weatherford on January 5th.
Looking toward the rest of their district schedule, the Blue Raiders are geared up and equipped with all of the tools necessary for a strong playoff run this season. Fans can expect this team to continue on their path of excellence as they make their mark this season.
