There are few advantages greater than experience, and Lake Creek showcased that to perfection in Austin on Friday. For the defending state champions, a return to McCombs Field always felt like an inevitability rather than the goal, and the Lions arrived with one objective in mind: securing a repeat against Brewer in the 5A Division II title game.

Lake Creek would see its goal fulfilled, ultimately holding off the Lady Bears in what became a 6-5 war of attrition.
