The Trimble Tech Bulldogs and the Colleyville Heritage Panthers are set to face-off in their first district match of the season. The Bulldogs travel to Colleyville on Friday night to take on the Panthers in an intense matchup. VYPE DFW takes a look at these two teams so far this season:
Trimble Tech Bulldogs (1-2)
Trimble Tech has had a little bit of a rough start to their 2023-24 campaign. Losing their first game in a forfeit against Seagoville, the team went on to drop week two's matchup against Wichita Falls City View (45-0). Last week, the team faced Dallas Shelton and posted a 21-0 shut-out victory. Looking to add more victories to their record as they enter district play this week, Trimble Tech will do whatever it takes for a strong district-opening outing.
Led by the likes of McKylon Davis, Decoryne Miles, Jesse Hill, Nick Martinez, Adam Nunez, Trenton Honeycutt, Jadarrius Strhan, and more, this squad is ready to put the pedal to the metal and kick it into high gear through district play.
Colleyville Heritage Panthers (2-1)
The Panthers are working hard this season. A season-opening victory over Irving Nimitz (47-13) followed by a hard-fought week two loss against Texas High (41-38) gave the Panthers the fire they needed to enter week three ready to take on Ennis. Week three saw bad weather canceling games across the metroplex. With a score of 10-7 in Colleyville Heritage's favor, the game ended up being called. Heading into a BYE week, the Panthers were able to focus on their preparations for district.
Led by Luke Ullrich who has averaged over 107 rushing yards per game, Ryan Keleher, Colin Bennett, Kai Pruitt, Hayden Golden, Bodey Weaver, and others, this team has been determined all season. Fans can expect their full force effort on Friday night.
What To Expect
Last season, Colleyville Heritage defeated Trimble Tech in a 57-0 trouncing. The Panthers will look to put up the same kind of fight as they enter Friday's matchup. The team can be expected to come out swinging looking to set the tone early. Trimble Tech has been working hard to gain momentum over the past few seasons. This team can be expected to come out ready to go against Colleyville Heritage.
Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. at Colleyville Heritage.

Wylie East and Sachse are headed for a week five district matchup against each other. Wylie East is undefeated so far this season and looking to continue their hot streak while Sachse is looking to improve their record. VYPE DFW takes a look at these two teams and what fans can expect heading into this district matchup:
Wylie East Raiders (3-0, 1-0)
Wylie East is off to another hot start this season. The team has posted big victories against their opponents while allowing only 27 points combined in three games. First, the Raiders had a hard-fought 14-13 victory over Richardson Berkner before posting a 49-0 shut-out victory over Grand Prairie. Last week, Wylie East secured a convincing 58-14 win over Garland Naaman Forest.
As the team looks to continue their hot streak, Raiders fans can look to dominant athletes putting in the work to be successful on and off the field. Kason Atkins, Michael Henderson, Howard Fisher IV, Keveyon Thorne, Amarean Porter, Alex Ainsworth, and others help lead this offense through key moments while Zach Loftus, Sean Berry, Ki'Neal Reed, Jamal Olford, Kory Boyd, and others lead the defense to powerful stops each week.
Sachse Mustangs (2-2, 2-0)
Dropping both of their non-district games shouldn't leave fans looking passed the Sachse Mustangs this season. The team showed a drive and focus through both non-district matchups. Week one saw a tough 44-41 battle against Coppell while week two saw an intense competition against Prosper (49-13). With a fresh breath of air and determination to enter district play strong, the Mustangs defeated Garland Lakeview Centennial in a convincing 31-7 victory. Last week, the team hosted Rowlett where they posted another huge victory (45-7).
Having allowed only 14 points against them against district opponents, the team is looking to battle hard against Wylie East. The offense is led by Kaliq Lockett who has averaged over 150 receiving yards per game, Brenden George, Kendrick Hanks Jr., Brendon Haygood, Joshua Ridge, Robbie Rothrock, and more. Ready to score early and often, this offense is focused on the game ahead. The defense is led by Sean Davault, Vashon Brunswick, Cory Bennett, and more.
What To Expect
Last season, Wylie East defeated Sachse 45-17 en route to a 7-1 district record and a finish at the top of their district standings. The Raiders will be looking to continue showcasing their strength as they take on Sachse. Sachse is looking to display their talent against a tough opponent. Fans can expect an intense matchup against these two opponents.
Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. on Friday night at Wylie ISD Stadium.

Just down the road from each other, Flower Mound and Lewisville have been rivals for a long time. Both teams prepare to open up district play against each other on Friday night. VYPE DFW takes a look at these teams so far and what fans can expect heading into this matchup!
Flower Mound Jaguars (2-1)
The Flower Mound Jaguars are riding a high this season despite having posted a loss. The team opened up their season with a 38-31 victory over Keller Fossil Ridge and followed it up with a week two victory over Lake Highlands (41-21). In week three, the team lost to a strong McKinney squad, but that doesn't mean this Jaguars' squad should be taken lightly. Their victories this season have spoken far louder than their loss against a tough team. In fact, their loss in week three followed by a BYE week just might be the fire and regrouping time necessary to pull ahead as Flower Mound enters district play.
Led by Nicolas Rosso, Marcus Simpson, Jason Welch, Carter Massey, Mason MacDonald, Jake Watson, Elliot Trawich, and more, this team knows how to battle back against adversity and show up to every single play like the game is on the line. Wanting to make a huge start to district play, Flower Mound will seek a victory on Friday night in Lewisville.
Lewisville Farmers (2-1)
Lewisville opened their season with a convincing 50-7 victory over Garland Naaman Forest. In week two, however, the team dropped a disappointing loss against Highland Park (21-18); the match was hard-fought with every moment worked for on the gridiron. Week three saw the Farmers pick back up and shut-out Mesquite (36-0). After a BYE week and time to focus on week five, the Famers are headed into what could be one of their most physical matchups in district play.
Led by top athletes like Julian Gonzales, Vance Walker, Viron Ellison, Jayden Hardy, Gabriel Lewis, Addison Wells, Sean Oliver, O'Marious Dimry-Lockhart, Rhyan Sewell, and more, this squad isn't to be looked over. Despite their loss against Highland Park, they have a lot of fight in them and will look to prove that on Friday night as they open district play.
What To Expect
Last season, in a battle, Flower Mound fell to Lewisville by a score of 28-21. With the drive and dedication this season, the Jaguars want revenge and can be expected to do whatever it takes to set the tone early on Friday night. Lewisville, however, wants to showcase its ability to be one of the strongest teams in its district and will look for a hot start to district play.
Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m. on Friday, September 22nd.
