Nate Adams recently won the VYPE DFW 2020 Preseason Offensive Lineman of the Year Fan Poll. VYPE caught up with Adams for the 411 on the rising star from Flower Mound.

VYPE: How long have you been playing football and how did you get your start?

Adams: I first started playing football in the 3rd grade. All of my brothers had started at around that age, and I couldn't have been more excited to follow them into it.

VYPE: Who has been your biggest influence in your sporting life? And Why?

Adams: I'd say my biggest sports influence has changed throughout my life. However, for the longest time I looked up to Reggie White. He was feared and respected on the field, but was known as a man of kindness to those off the field.

VYPE: Go-to pregame meal? Routine?

Adams: My go-to pregame meal is without a doubt Italian food. I wouldn't say I have much of a routine, besides staying focused, but there are some things we do as a team before games. Such as, senior speeches, team meals, and a hype meeting.

VYPE: Favorite subject in school?

Adams: My favorite subject so far has definitely been anatomy/physiology.

VYPE: What's your biggest strength? Or What do You Bring to Your Team?

Adams: I feel like strengths I bring to my team are leadership, and the ability to be versatile on the offensive line. I love working with the guys, and how we're all a family more so than a team. My past 2 years on varsity have helped to show me how to become a better leader, and learn how to help my teammates when they're in trouble. With all this, I'm ready to put that into action with my guys this Fall.

VYPE: Off the field, what is your favorite thing to do?

Adams: When it comes to off the field hobbies, I would say my favorite thing to do is create. I love to sit with my dad in our garage and just build. We've built things for my room, a sled for working drills in quarantine, and we're constantly working on things.

VYPE: What has been your greatest HS memory so far?

Adams: My best memory in high school so far was the Coppell game my sophomore year. It was the game to decide the district champion. The music was blasting in the stadium during warmups, and after we won, our entire side rushed onto the field.

Rico McClarity (Madison McClarity's father)

Returning to play after a halted season can't be an easy feat for any athlete. With the start of the season, there are bound to be new goals, new challenges, and a new chance at chasing a state title. I caught up with Sachse junior Madison McClarity to see how she's ready to take on the season ahead with Sachse, a team McClarity says shouldn't be overlooked.
