THE STATUS: VYPE DFW Basketball Rankings in second round of district play; D'Ville, Guyer hit their stride
As the season enters its most vital stretch, teams across the Dallas-Fort Worth area are jockeying for position in the second half of their district schedules. With playoff spots on the line, the intensity is rising as programs battle for a spot in the postseason.
Allen continues to reign supreme as the city’s top team, holding a nearly perfect 23-1 record. Their explosive offense has proven nearly unstoppable, making them the clear frontrunner in the area.
Close behind, Lake Ridge (25-2; 5-0 in district) remains a force to be reckoned with, holding a slim lead over district rivals North Crowley and Crowley in the competitive 3-6A district.
Meanwhile, Duncanville and Denton Guyer have risen in the rankings after impressive performances against tough competition over the past couple of weeks. Both teams have shown they can hang with the best, positioning themselves well for the remainder of the season.
In the 5A classification, Mansfield Summit and Frisco Heritage are making waves, with each riding a hot streak that’s turned heads in recent weeks. Meanwhile, Dallas Kimball continues to dominate in Class 4A, holding firm as one of the top programs in the area.
With district races heating up and playoff spots hanging in the balance, it’s clear that these teams—and a few others—are setting the stage for an exciting finish to the season.
