Heading into this season, there was a question of who would step up for Cypress Creek at quarterback.
The answer - senior Julian Uwadia.
Heading into Week 7, Uwadia has guided the Cougars to a 3-3 record winning three-straight games after an 0-3 start. The resurgence of the Cougars put them into the playoff picture.
VYPE caught up with the senior signal-caller for a Q&A session to get the 411.
VYPE: What has this season been like for you?
Uwadia: "This season has been very fun and exciting. It's my last year and I'm trying to make a statement."
VYPE: You are the No. 2 passing QB in the district, what does that mean to you?
Uwadia: "It means a lot but as long as we are winning I don't mind having no yards. I'm just focused on doing whatever I have to do to win."
VYPE: It seems Cy Creek is picking up some steam, does it feel that way on the sidelines and inside that locker room?
Uwadia: "After our first three losses, coach changed the way we do things in every little aspect in our preparation."
VYPE: What has been the biggest key to success for you so far?
Uwadia: "Our biggest key is that we are playing together as a team. At first everyone was worried about themselves, now we came together and just playing our best for the guy next to us. We are playing more as a team."
VYPE: What do you still want to improve on?
Uwadia: "I need to work on my throwing under pressure."
VYPE: Favorite video game?
Uwadia: "Madden 20"
VYPE: Favorite song to get hyped to?
Uwadia: "Slime Mentality, NBA Youngboy"
VYPE: Favorite food?
Uwadia: "My favorite food is Chicken strips, I love Zaxby's."
VYPE: Something people may not know about you?
Uwadia: "Something people may not know is that when I started playing football I played defense end when I was 8."
VYPE: Dream job?
Uwadia: "My dream job is to be a surgeon."
