HEAT INDEX: Final VYPE Dallas-Fort Worth Softball Rankings Entering the 2026 Postseason
20 Apr, 2026
It’s become clear that Melissa hasn’t skipped a beat since repeating as state champions last spring, riding a 22-game winning streak into the playoffs with a pristine 27-2 record.
Guyer (26-2) is poised for another run at the state level, while Byron Nelson (30-3-1), Waxahachie (34-1), and Allen (25-3) have emerged as legitimate contenders throughout the campaign.
The same holds true for Richland (28-3) and Timber Creek (23-6-1), while Lovejoy (23-8-2) and Forney (27-5-1) remain heavy hitters in their respective conferences.
With that in mind, it’s time to size up DFW softball as the regular season winds down.
