As the new football season rapidly approaches, Denton Guyer is one of those teams that continues to remain ready for anything that comes their way. VYPE DFW was given the opportunity to catch up with the Wildcats' new head coach, Reed Heim, in a quick look into the program as they prepare for summer workout sessions to begin.

VYPE: Where were you before Denton? What was your time like there?
Heim: I was Special Teams and Defensive Analyst at The University of Colorado. I was only there for one season before heading back to Texas. It was a great experience.
VYPE: What are your goals for the summer as you lead up to the season?
Heim: Adjust to the new role as head coach. You are never ready, but I've been getting ready for a long time. For the team: get stronger, faster and smarter using our 24 summer opportunities.
VYPE: What are your goals for district play?
Heim: Finish in the Top 4 and get to Gold Ball Season!
VYPE: What one piece of advice has someone given you that you have implemented into your every day coaching life?
Heim: People do what they want to do. If it's not something they want to do you have to find a way to make them want to do it.
VYPE: What are you most looking forward to this season?
Heim: Watching our team play together. They love and care for each other.
