Birdville basketball has been making their way through their schedules season after season with multiple playoff appearances. Last season, the team made a strong campaign to the playoffs before being knocked out in the second round. VYPE DFW takes a dive into how this season has gone for the Hawks so far and what fans can expect for the rest of their schedule:
Last season, the Hawks played strong from start to finish. Birdville opened their 2020-21 season with a loss to a strong Denton Guyer, but quickly bounced back in order to make a name for themselves not only in preseason play, but also throughout district play. Birdville posted incredible victories over the likes of Arlington Lamar, Fort Worth Timber Creek, Fossil Ridge, Justin Northwest, and more en route to the playoffs. After a strong victory over Aledo in round one of the playoffs, the Hawks fell 48-37 to Mansfield Timberview in the second round.
This season, the Birdville Hawks started with a bang against Arlington Lamar with a 75-45 victory. They have continued to play strong and play with tenacity against all of their opponents in this season's schedule. With big victories (including a 58-54 victory in overtime against Byron Nelson) over the likes of Richardson Pearce, North Crowley, Lake Dallas, Fort Worth Poly Tech, and more. The team has posted a 11-9 overall record (1-1 in district play so far). Birdville opened up post-holiday play with a 76-35 victory over Lake Dallas on Tuesday evening and looks ahead to the rest of their district schedule where fans can expect the team to play strong and fight until the final whistle every game in order to make a strong playoff push.
