Wimberley flexing for another deep run in 2026
The Wimberley Texans are coming off another outstanding season after finishing 46-6 and once again proving they are among the premier programs in the state.
Coach Misty Fletcher-Remmers returns a talented core led by Trinity Laney, Ellen Watson and Skylar Mears, giving the Texans plenty of experience as they chase another deep playoff run.
Keep an eye on Kara Thames, Victoria Jones and Drew Thames, who could emerge as breakout performers and make a significant impact throughout the 2026 season.
According to Fletcher-Remmers, defense will be the biggest key to the Texans' success.
"We've excelled offensively in the past, and now we want to add another layer to our game," Fletcher-Remmers said. "We are also asking some new players to step up, so embracing the changes and being confident in our training and abilities will be important."
"This group knows how to work hard, and they really care about each other," she added. "Both of those things will ensure this is an interesting season."
With a proven winning culture, experienced leaders and a renewed emphasis on defense, Wimberley has all the pieces to remain one of the state's top contenders in 2026.
Stony Point says, Why Not Us?
Stony Point enters the 2026 season with plenty of momentum after finishing 26-16 a year ago, and coach Julie Miller believes this group is ready to take the next step.
The Tigers return a talented core featuring outside hitter Iyanna Herzog, middle blocker Denariah Bosier, outside hitter Zoe Janda, libero Julia Howser and right side/middle blocker Natalia Lineberger.
The theme for this season is simple: "Why Not Us?"
Two players poised for breakout seasons are senior outside hitter Ella Larbi and junior right side Ryleigh Sapp, both of whom are expected to take on much larger roles in 2026.
“These young ladies are relentless and fight hard through everything they do,” Miller said. “They have high expectations for themselves, and their work ethic is amazing. We return a strong offensive group and can't wait to show people what we are made of.”
With an experienced core, emerging playmakers and a team built around belief and determination, Stony Point has all the ingredients to make plenty of noise this season.
Recently, our team traveled to Austin for the 2026 City-Wide Volleyball Media Day.
