VYPE U Behind the Lens: The Woodlands Starts Season with Loss to Oak Ridge

On Tuesday, The Woodlands varsity girls softball played their first official season game against Oak Ridge.

The Lady Highlanders started off strong with two runs in the first three innings, just for Oak Ridge to comeback with a game-tying home run.

Both teams kept each other at bay until the seventh inning, when Oak Ridge scored their third run. The Lady War Eagles came out on top with the faint score 3-2. Check out the game photos below!

No. 2 -- Kingwood Mustangs

Few stories were as compelling as Kingwood’s a year ago. Long chasing a UIL title that always seemed just out of reach—most recently with a Final Four run in 2024—the Mustangs finally broke through last May. Fueled by a “prove it” mentality, KHS went 34–4–1 and captured the first state championship in program history, defeating Forney 4–1 in its fifth overall tournament appearance.
