Building off of the success of last season, the Prosper Eagles are ready to soar this Fall. Returning to the gridiron with determination and grit, fans can expect this squad to do amazing things in the 2023-24 season. VYPE DFW was recently on campus to film a hype video for the football team as they head into their new season. Ranked fourth on the VYPE DFW 6A Preseason Football Rankings, what can fans expect from this squad?
REWIND
Last season, the Eagles opened their schedule with a handful of non-district victories over Euless Trinity (17-13), Sachse (51-14), and Rockwall (19-11) before dropping their district opener against a tough Denton Guyer squad. Keeping their heads up, their minds clear, and their goals in focus, Prosper went full force through the rest of district play; not dropping another district game. The team posted victories over Prosper Rock Hill (49-0), Little Elm (59-6), McKinney Boyd (49-16), Denton Braswell (59-14), Allen (29-24), and McKinney (47-27) to finish second in their district standings with a 6-1 record.
Headed into playoffs, the Eagles looked stronger than ever. Posting strong victories over Plano (28-3), South Grand Prairie (38-26), North Crowley (35-21), and Lewisville (24-13), the team showcased their talent every moment they had. Despite a tough loss to eventual state champions Duncanville, the Eagles had a remarkable season to look back on.
LOOKING AHEAD
With a taste of success and a zero-doubt attitude, fans can expect the Eagles to do their job this season. Opening their schedule on Friday, August 25th against Euless Trinity in front of a home crowd will be the fans' first chance to get a glimpse of the on-field culture this season. With athletes like Terrence Jones II, Brady Taylor, Joshua Martinez, Dylan Guerriero, Marquez Sanchez Rios, Carter Bakewell, Luke Johnson, Conner Stevens, and more, Prosper can be expected to have a strong season.
After non-district play, the team will face-off against Denton Guyer at home on September 15th to open up district. As they look toward a similar schedule as last season, fans can expect this crew to be prepared to leave no stone unturned. Expect this team to make a strong playoff push!
