ON THE GREEN: 2026 UIL Girls Golf State Recap — Westlake, Pieper Take Gold
In Class 6A at TPC San Antonio’s Oaks Course, Westlake once again reaffirmed its place among Texas’ elite, capturing the team title with a 42-over 618 to outpace Southlake Carroll, Vandegrift, and The Woodlands. The Chaparrals’ consistency across the lineup proved decisive, holding off a tightly packed field that featured several programs within striking distance.
Individually, Jordan’s Carolyn Liu turned in one of the tournament’s most impressive performances, firing a 2-under 142 to claim first-place honors.
Meanwhile, Class 5A at the Legacy Hills Golf Club saw Pieper continue its rise, securing the state championship with a 20-over 596 in a balanced team effort that edged out Reedy and Alamo Heights. The individual spotlight belonged to Alamo Heights’ Michelle Lee, whose 7-under 137 stood as one of the weekend’s most dominant rounds across all classifications.
